About me

My career has covered a lot of ground, and I believe that is my greatest strength.

It began in PhD-level Chemical Research, followed by two decades as a Science and ICT teacher. My background also includes several years as a Professional Videographer and a Tutor/Assessor for Digital Apprenticeships. I currently work as a university Learning Technologist. Alongside my work in higher education, I offer consultancy services to organisations that need clear, professional digital resources.

I’ve always been driven by two things: solving problems, which is why I did a PhD in Chemistry, and helping people. When I struggled with IT myself as a complete novice, that experience shaped how I train and support people with it today. I understand what it feels like to find technology confusing, and that’s precisely what makes me good at explaining it clearly.

As a teacher, I always enjoyed seeing that light-bulb moment, when someone who was struggling suddenly gets it. Creating a video that does exactly what it says on the tin, that genuinely helps someone work independently and confidently, is something I find deeply satisfying. That’s why I do this work.”

What does that mean for you?

It means I bring the analytical mind of a scientist and the patience of a teacher to every technical problem I solve. I’ve spent over 30 years learning how to make complicated things feel simple.

I don’t just understand the technology; I understand the person trying to use it. I specialise in creating clear, narrated how-to guides that cut through the noise and show people exactly what they need to do.
