Flash Animations

Right-clicking to save doesn't work for Flash animations, so you need to use alternative ways of saving these.

Using Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options.

For Internet Explorer 8 on Windows Vista, follow these instructions.

For an earlier version of Internet Explorer on Windows XP, then these instructions may be more suitable.

Embedding YouTube Videos in PowerPoint

You can embed YouTube videos in PowerPoint. Follow these instructions:

  1. Copy the YouTube address of your video (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UztBWnRY8l0).
  2. Click on Developer tab (if you don't have the Developer tab, you need to click on the Office Button in the top left, and choose PowerPoint Options. Tick the box that says Show Developer tab in the ribbon).
  3. Click on “Hammer/Spanner” icon.
  4. Scroll down to “Shockwave Flash Object”, click OK.
  5. With your mouse (mouse pointer will have changed to a cross) draw a rectangle on the page.
  6. Right click in the rectangle and choose “Properties”.
  7. Paste your YouTube address into where it says “Movie”.
  8. Delete watch?
  9. Delete =, and replace it with a /
  10. Close the properties window and look at the page in Slide Show.
