Computer Graphics
Computer graphics are graphics created using computers and, more generally, the representation and manipulation of image data by a computer. Currently Adobe Photoshop is one of the most used and best-known computer graphics programs and is the industry standard for photo manipulation.

Photoshop has received bad press for the way it is used in the fashion industry to air-brush and body shape photographs of models. This advert from a Dove US campaign a few years back was used to illustrate how image editing can be abused:
Cultural Impact of Photoshop
Photoshop and derivatives such as Photoshopped have become verbs that are sometimes used to refer to images edited by Photoshop or any image manipulating program (such derivatives are discouraged by Adobe). An example of the use of "photoshopped" as a verb is in this trailer for the film 'Crazy Stupid Love':
"Seriously? It's like you're Photoshopped!"

Adobe Fireworks
Adobe Fireworks is more limited than Adobe Photoshop, but works a little better for web graphics design. The following are examples of web graphics created by pupils using Adobe Fireworks:
