These two images are not optimised. They are the original photographs taken on a 10.2 mega-pixel digital camera. They have simply been re-sized in Dreamweaver, by changing the height and width attributes, to fit into the table on this page. |

These two images have been optimised. They are the same images as above, but the image sizes have been reduced and the new photographs saved with the new 300 x 201 resolution. |

Before: This was one of the photographs opened in Fireworks, and shows the original image size (3872 x 2592 pixels) that resulted in the very large 5 MB file size:
After: This is the same photograph in Fireworks after the image size had been changed to 300 x 201 pixels. This new optimised image was then saved as a much smaller 101 KB image file.
